I-Phone: An Icon of Freedom from the Physical Context

When Mel Gibson died screaming "Freedom!!" in Braveheart, he must've been talking about the IPhone. Named invention of the year by Time Magazine for its pioneering software and "touchy- feely" design, this product has made more money in the first 30 days than other new (similar) products make in the first 6 months. The Phone is simply a gateway for consumers of today to enter a "ubiquitous marketplace" that lies ahead. This phenomenon of ubiquity has been explored by the japanese, who setup an experiment in the ginza district of Tokyo (last december) to explore human interactions in environments embedded with pervasive computing. Here is a link to their website.
